HTC Desire VC

Price: Rs. 20000 - Rs. 22000
The Good: The HTC Desire VC is a dual-SIM smartphone as its predecessor HTC Desire V. But the Desire VC comes with CDMA+GSM network support, whereas Desire V supports only both GSM network.

It has a very light and thin body built. Some of the Desire VC's highlights include the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, a larger battery pack for better battery life, Sense v4.0 user interface and Beats Audio.

The Bad: With the retail price of around Rs.20,000 you are just paying for dual-SIM functionality. Besides the CDMA is good options for those who uses both CDMA and GSM network. For single SIM user this phone is not a worth buy. You will get more options for single-SIM smartphone with less expensive and powerful device like HTC One V, Sony Xperia U or Neo and many more.

Design: The HTC Desire VC is a good-looking smartphone. At 9.5mm, it is pretty slim and sleek and lighter too weighing just 119 grams. It is made of plastic and aluminum construction which gives a solid look for the smartphone and the rubberized texture on the back panel gives you a comfortable grip.

On the top you can see 3.5 mm headset jack and power/lock button, on the right it has volume keys, on left side it houses the micro USB 2.0 slot and at the bottom it has nothing except a pinhole for the microphone. The volume and power/lock keys feel rubbery when pressed. The phones front is covered with an edge-to-edge glass panel; looks great with three captivate touch buttons.

At the back it has a 5 MP camera with LED flash and as bonus it got the rubberized rear shell which also covers some part of the phone’s side which is a plus point. Overall the phone feels very solid.

Processor and Operating System: The Desire V is engineered with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512 MB RAM, and Adreno 200 GPU giving powerful processing capacity to experience the pleasures of gaming and swift browsing. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4 user interface.

Screen: It comes with 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen with 480×800 pixels of resolution which generates 16M colors and the perfectly designed HTC sense 4.0 together gives a killer combination.

Camera: The device comes with 5 MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, 2592x1944 pixels of resolution and geo-tagging. The camera is capable of capturing high quality videos, but it disappoints with no front facing camera.
Storage and Connectivity: It has internal storage of 4GB and can be expandable up to expandable memory up to 32 GB using microSD card and as a special offer buyers will get 25 GB of Dropbox space free for two years (conditions apply).
In terms of connectivity it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB, GPS, AGPS and 3.5mm audio jack.

Battery: The device comes with 1,650 mAh battery. Like all Android smartphones Desire V is also able to last throughout a day with usual light-moderate usage.

Wrap-Up: The Desire VC is well built with solid casing and the audio quality is above average as it is integrated with Beats Audio technology. But we really don’t see anything impressive except from the fact that its dual-SIM smartphone which supports CDMA and GSM network. This device is especially for those who seriously use dual-SIM with smartphone functionality and for the single-SIM users, not a good option.
