Yes Bank to Focus on Retail Segment for Growth


Chennai: Privately-owned Yes Bank will train its focus on retail banking in order to grow its Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) portfolio, said a senior bank official. Speaking to reporters, Sonu Bhasin, Group President (Branch Banking), said, "Our aim is to grow our retail customers by around 70 percent every year." The bank has been focusing on corporate and government sector for business. Towards that, the bank is expanding its branch network with a target of having 750 branches from the around 360 branches it has currently. According to R. Ravichander, Group President, the bank increase its branch network in south India to around 55 branches this fiscal. Officials said the bank had not focused on south India earlier and this will be changed now. According to officials the bank is targeting a total business (deposits and advances) of 150,000 crore by 2015.
