Uday Kotak is India's first billionare banker. The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank owns a 50 percent stake in the bank; Forbes estimated his wealth to be $4.1 billion in 2011. He is ranked 270 in the list. He ended a 14 year partnership with Goldman Sachs by acquiring its 25 percent stake in two subsidiaries for $72 million in 2006.
