Top-10 Sensex Companies Add Rs 68,518 Crore In Market Valuation


NEW DELHI: In a strong market, the top-10 Sensex companies together added Rs 68,518 crore in market capitalisation last week, with ITC and HDFC Bank emerging as the biggest gainers.

The market valuation of FMCG major ITC jumped 10,758.69 crore to 2,65,140.69 crore.

Similarly, HDFC Bank's m-cap surged Rs 10,565.07 crore to 2,06,183.07 crore. ONGC saw its value climb Rs 9,283.13 crore to 3,60,956.13 crore.

The m-cap of ICICI Bank zoomed Rs 9,139.94 crore to 1,69,060.94 crore and Coal India's market value advanced by Rs 7,517.34 crore to Rs 2,48,896.34 crore.

Larsen & Toubro Ltd added 7,188.27 crore to 1,61,644.27 crore in its market cap and RIL's value moved up by 6,192.97 crore to 3,33,599.97 crore.

The m-cap of SBI soared 4,651.81 crore to 2,01,503.81 crore, TCS's value rose by 2,233.27 crore to 4,72,014.27 crore and that of Infosys went up by 987.71 crore to 1,86,003.71 crore.

In the ranking of top-10 firms, TCS stood at number one position followed by ONGC, RIL, ITC, CIL, HDFC Bank, SBI, Infosys, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro.

The BSE benchmark Sensex touched an all-time high of 25,999.08 before ending at 25,962.06, showing a sharp gain of 862.14 points or 3.43 per cent during the last week.
