Top Tax Payer States in India


BENGALURU: India is a land of diversity in its ways of culture as well as economy. India, as an economy, is growing profoundly and the growth is backed by  its states. As compiled by Rediff, let us have a look at the list of states in terms of tax revenues as assessed for the year 2010-1015 by the 13th Finance Commission.

10# Haryana

Tax revenues: 136,291 crore ($24.67 billion)

Haryana is known for its manufacturing industries situated there and apart from the bigger names, there are more than 80,000 small-scale industrial units functional in the state that brings in most part of the revenue for the state and its people.

Gurgaon is the most happening place in Haryana and has most of the IT and other leading sectors situated there. Panipat is a city of textiles and carpets and is the biggest centre for cheap blankets and carpets in India; along with this it also has a handloom weaving industry as well and heavy industries are shining in the state.
