Top 7 Sensex Blue-Chips Lose Rs 18,471 Crore In M-Cap


New Delhi: The combined market valuation of top seven Sensex firms fell by Rs 18,470.91 crore last week.

Among the top 10 companies, TCS, ONGC, ITC, RIL, Infosys, ICICI Bank and HDFC saw losses in their market capitalisation (m-cap), while CIL, SBI and HDFC Bank made gains.

The valuation of Infosys tumbled by Rs 5,920.38 crore to Rs 2,23,992.30 crore, taking the biggest hit on the top-10 chart.

ONGC's m-cap declined by Rs 4,491.63 crore to Rs 2,94,351.64 crore, while RIL lost Rs 3,607.1 crore to Rs 2,87,597.62 crore.

The m-cap of ICICI Bank plunged by Rs 2,532.8 crore to Rs 2,03,267.40 crore, while ITC lost Rs 1,119.17 crore to Rs 2,93,992.16 crore.

TCS's value fell by Rs 675.76 crore to Rs 4,90,759.30 crore and HDFC lost Rs 124.07 crore to Rs 1,75,134.69 crore.

In contrast, SBI added Rs 2,538.35 crore in its m-cap to Rs 2,29,683.21 crore, while that of HDFC Bank rose by Rs 1,715.47 crore to Rs 2,29,027.50 crore.

CIL's value went up by Rs 821.13 crore to Rs 2,38,663.83 crore.

In terms of ranking of top-10 firms, TCS retained its numero-uno position followed by ONGC, ITC, RIL, CIL, SBI, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank and HDFC.

Over the past week, the BSE benchmark Sensex fell by 130.06 points to end at 27,241.78.
