TCS, Infosys Lead As 9 Sensex Companies Add 57,183 Cr In M-Cap


Mumbai: Nine of the top 10 Sensex companies added 57,183 crore in market value last week, with IT majors TCS and Infosys emerging as the biggest gainers.

TCS and Infosys together accounted for more than half of the gain. The market capitalisation (m-cap) of TCS climbed Rs 22,849 crore to 4,15,162 crore, while that of Infosys jumped 10,247 crore to 2,03,985 crore.

Bangalore: Reliance Industries added 9,791 crore in value to 2,88,760 crore. Wipro's m-cap surged Rs 7,400 crore to Rs 1,35,342 crore, while ONGC's value rose Rs 3,294 crore to 2,43,275 crore.

Bharti Airtel's valuation advanced 2,738 crore to 1,31,074 crore, Coal India added 442 crore to 1,79,542 crore and ICICI Bank's m-cap rose by 224 crore to 1,25,527 crore.

ITC's value gained 198 crore to 2,50,078 crore. HDFC Bank was the sole loser, with its market value declining 6,031 crore to Rs 1,59,194 crore.

TCS continued to hold the numero-uno position among the top 10 Sensex companies, followed by Reliance, ITC, ONGC, Infosys, Coal India, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Bharti and ICICI Bank.

The benchmark 30-share Sensex rose 364 points to close the week at 21,079.72.
