Bangalore: With having healthy trading throughout the day, Sun TV Network ended the trading with a gain of 10.01 percent (37.05). Sun's stock opened today at slightly higher point to its previous close, and managed to touch 52-week high value of 421.60 in afternoon trade. Overall 726,912 shares were traded throughout the day with a current P/E ratio at 33.59. The 52 week stock price chart is on the left. Sun TV Network is engaged in producing and broadcasting satellite television and radio software programming in the regional languages of South India. The company satellite broadcasting channels in four South Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. As of August 12, 2008, the company operated 37 frequency modulation (FM) radio stations across the country. In addition the company has three operative FM radio stations at Chennai, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore under the brand 93.5 SURYAN FM. The channels offered by the company include Sun TV, Surya TV, Gemini TV and Udaya TV. It has two subsidiaries - Kal Radio and South Asia FM. With 1,951,853 units of shares Morgan Stanley Growth Fund holds the largest number of shares in Sun TV Network. In third quarter ending December 31, Sun TV reported a growth of net profit from to 151.94 crore from 112.24 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income increased to 403.43 crore from 285.27 crore in the year ago quarter. The company recommended an interim dividend of 30 percent or 1.50 per share for the current fiscal. Other broadcasting companies also ended the trading on positive note with Zee News, Raj Television Network, IBN18 Broadcast, TV Today Network and New Delhi Television gained 3.45, 5.67, 2.61, 2.06 and 0.17 percent respectively.
