Sensex Provisionally Closes 60 Points Up


MUMBAI: A day after it gained over 150 points, a benchmark index of the Indian equity markets provisionally closed in the green during the trade session on Thursday.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) provisionally closed the day's trade 60 points up during the session under review.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also provisionally closed in the positive territory. It was up 20.70 points or 0.24 percent at 8,588.65 points.

The S&P BSE Sensex, which opened at 28,291.88 points, provisionally closed at 28,282.80 points (3.35 p.m.), up 60 points or 0.21 percent from the previous day's close at 28,223.08 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 28,359.96 points and a low of 28,163.69 points in the intra-day trade.
