Popular Movies That Teach About Money

Bangalore: A movie entertains, informs and occasionally teaches us lessons. They can be inspirational, or aid one’s faith in humanity, but the message hardly ever has to do with that which speaks about so many aspects of our lives, like money. But it’s less often that a movie teaches you about real money management, business advice and finance. Here are some lessons learned from movies that actually teach all about money.

1. Wall Street

Movie Year – 1987

The prime reason why ‘Wall Street’ is known as an ideal business themed movie is the Oscar winning performance of Michael Douglas. His famous monologue demonstrated the atmosphere of greed and corporate misconduct superbly. His character became an international icon and a synonym for distaste of greed. Moreover many market experts opine that today’s economic climate is another form of this mainstream movie.

“The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.” – Gordon Gekko’s monologue from the movie ‘Wall Street’.
