Modern Steels stock up by 14 percent


Bangalore: Modern Steels stock was among the top gainers after the price went up nearly by 14 percent. After opening the day at 43.90, the stock touched its 52 week high of 50.60 before closing the trade at 48.50 with a gain of 14.93 percent. The stock price yesterday had closed at 42.40 and thus the difference between yesterday's closing price and today's open price is 1.50. Through the day, 83827 shares of Modern Steels were traded in the market; left hand side has the 52 week chart. Modern Steels is an India-based company. The Company is engaged in the business of steel manufacturing. Its products include special and alloy steel, stainless steel, and bright bars. It caters to the requirements of engineering, automotive, bearing and allied industries. Its special alloy steel is a preferred material, which has found extensive applications in automotive and engineering industry. Its stainless steel is a preferred material, which has found extensive applications in architectural and engineering industry. It supplies customized products for bright bar application required by various industries. As of March 31, 2010, it had installed capacity of 100,000 metric tons of concast billets/ingots, 50,000 metric tons of induction ingots and 75,000 metric tons of rolled products. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010, it had production of 53,868 metric tons of concast billets/ingots, 32,285 metric tons of induction ingots and 51,519 metric tons of rolled products.
