Mediclaim Reforms: Explained

BENGALURU: Health, it’s the matter of survival, but the present urban atmosphere, which is entirely polluted by all means is not only reducing the quality of heath but also reducing the life expectancy of the humans. Hence health expenditures have surged up beyond aam aadmi’s reach. Thus, the health insurance policies play a major role in availing hassle free medical benefits.

Conversely, there are several instances wherein the policy holders are unjustified as go deal with the numerous middle men before the final insurance settlement is made. As a result Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has planned to bring significant changes in mediclaim segment and here goes the list of the announced changes.

Third Party Adminstarion:

Third Party Adminstarion (TAP) is playing a broker role amid the banks and the customers, and also authorized to approve and reject the claims. But this structure was condemned as the TAPs are said to be approving the claims as per the daily targets, structured within the company. Apprehending this, the IRDIA reformed the insurance regulations and has cut down the TAPs power of approving and rejecting the claims and the insurance companies are directly brought into the picture.
