Jaypee Group Plans 2,000 Crore Investment In Hospitals


NOIDA:  Infrastructure and real estate player Jaypee Group plans to invest 2,000 crore in the next three to five years in healthcare ventures in Uttar Pradesh, Vikram Singh, chief executive officer of Jaypee Hospital, said.

"We are planning 2,000 crore investment in the next three to five years. With this investment we plan to add around 4,000-5,000 beds. These hospitals will come up in various places," Singh told IANS in an interview.

The investment will be done in a mix of one-third debt and two-third equity, he said.

These hospitals will be located in places like Agra, Sahibabad, Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, Rekha Dixit, director, Jaypee Healthcare and also daughter of founder chairman of the group Jai Prakash Gaur, told IANS.

The company is also planning a hospital in Kanpur, Singh confirmed.

Jaypee forayed into the healthcare sector with its multi-super specialty hospital in Noida with 525 beds in the first phase. The hospital will be fully operational by June first week, Dixit said.

The hospital will have 150 critical care beds spread across medical and surgical intensive care units. "In this hospital our focus will be cancer care, cardiac programmes, solid organ transplant, end-to-end mother and child care solutions and critical care units," Singh said.
