In 1985, Mehul Choksi took over his father’s company which was founded in 1975 after his untimely death.since, Mehul’s father had laid a good foundation for him, he renamed his company as Gitanjali after his two daughters- Ita and Anjali.

Initially, the company was only responsible for trading rough and unpolished diamonds and it was recognized as the biggest exporter of diamonds in the world. This helped Gitanjali, expand its business in the international market.

Today Gitanjali's product portfolio consists of Gili, Nakshatra, Asmi, D'damas, Maya, Diya and Sangini with some of the best Bollywood celebrities as their brand ambassadors like Aishwarya Rai Bachan, Katrina Kaif, Diya Mirza, Kareena Kapoor to name a few.
