How Much Dollar a Student Could Carry While Going Abroad?


Bangalore: Higher education in high-end foreign universities has now become a dream difficult to fulfill. Students who have enrolled themselves in foreign universities will now have to limit their expenses since RBI has come up with the new norm of limiting the amount of dollars one can take out of the country, reports Preeti Kulkarni of The Economic Times.

The depreciating rupee coupled with the new declaration by RBI on bringing down the amount of dollar to be carried out of country is surely going to make students trim expenses and redraw the strategy to fund education. "Education loans and remittances related to overseas studies are a part of the $75,000 limit, but if someone wants to remit a higher amount, they can do so with prior permission of the central bank," said an RBI spokesperson.
