HDFC Standard Life IPO to open next year


Bangalore: Initial Public Offering (IPO) of HDFC Standard Life is likely to hit the market next year, said Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Chairman Deepak Parekh. However, he denied any possibility to list non-life insurance subsidiary. According to Parekh, though the rent and selling of commercial real estate has subdued, the realty prices have started to rise up to the 2007 levels. HDFC has issued loans for affordable housing to builders, with average loan size has been at 17 lakh. HDFC's results for the quarter ended June, 2010 are in line with market expectations. It has posted a 22.83 percent rise in net profit year-on-year at 694.59 crore. The stock has gained 14.40 to 3,077.60. Its loan book also has turned 23 percent, which stood at Rs 1,01,625 crore on June 30, 2010.
