Bull fights back, Sensex up by 250 points
Mumbai: A key index of Indian equities markets ended trade 250 points above its previous close as traders booked profits at higher levels. The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower at 14,740.26 points, ended at 15,035.26 points, up 250.34 points or 1.69 percent. The chart showing the 52 week performance of the Sensex is on the left. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed in the green, gaining 71 points or 1.62 percent from its previous closing figure to end at 4,458.90 points. Back in the Indian markets, realty, capital goods and metal stocks saw good buying action, with their sectoral indices up over three percent. Realty and metal stocks were battered the most in Monday's selloff. Among the Sensex stocks, Tata Steel and Hindalco were up over 4.3 and 5.7 percent respectively, while DLF added 4.3 percent.
