Birla Sun Life Commodity Equities Fund tops MFs last week


Bangalore: Birla Sun Life Commodity Equities Fund led the mutual fund schemes last week with a growth rate of 3.833 percent. As on July 16, the net asset value (NAV) of the scheme was 13.67. Birla Sun Life Commodity Equities Fund an Open ended Growth Scheme with the objective to offer long term growth of capital, by investing in stocks of commodity companies, i.e., companies engaged in or focusing on the specified commodity business and/or overseas mutual fund scheme(s), that have similar investment objectives. These securities could be issued in India or overseas. According to mutualfundsindia.com, other mutual funds which followed Birla Sun Life Commodity Equities Fund are JM Financial Services Sector Fund - Growth , Bank BeES, DSP Reliance Banking Exchange Traded Fund and PSU Bank Benchmark Exchange Traded Scheme with growth rates of 3.1802, 3.0895, 3.0604 and 3.0381 respectively. As on Jun 30, 2010, the fund size of the JM Telecom Sector Fund was 7.61 crore. Vineet Maloo and Ankit Sancheti are the Fund Manager of the scheme.
