Jay Bhow, Senior Director, Oracle Retail Applications Development

Jay Bhow is Senior Director for Retail Applications Development, Oracle. He is responsible for managing the Oracle Retail Center of Excellence based in Bangalore, India. The centre currently has over 200 retail experts with competencies in all aspects of retail industry software applications.

Bhow joined Oracle India in 2005 after returning from the U.S. The largest research and development center for Oracle outside the U.S., the Oracle India Development Center (IDC) in Bangalore and Hyderabad carries out cutting edge development work, across the entire Oracle product family for the global market. Oracle has been operating in India for more than 19 years, first through a distributorship since 1987 and thereafter through its own subsidiary since 1993. It is one of the largest multinational employers in India with more than 21,000 employees. India is Oracle's fourth-largest market in Asia in terms of revenue, up from tenth a few years ago. Oracle owns majority stake in the Indian software company, i-flex Solutions.

Prior to his tenure at Oracle, Bhow held senior management positions at Retek, a provider of retail software solutions. Retek was acquired by Oracle in June 2005. Bhow has 20 years of experience in the IT industry with over 8 years of experience in developing and implementing IT solutions in the retail industry.

Bhow had written on 'Retail Scalability, The Real Story' in the October 2002 issue of National Retail Federation's STORES. He holds a B.E. from the University of South Florida.
