Ajai Chowdhry, one of the six founder members of HCL began an exciting journey three decades ago with a dream to give India its very own microcomputer. The sheer clarity of vision and hard work led to a revolution and laid the foundation for the Indian IT industry, taking India to the league of major economies of the world. Ajai Chowdhry has constantly added newer and cutting-edge technology skills to the companies portfolio and under his able leadership several pioneering projects like foraying into IT retail, creating an extensive Systems Integration business and driving a vision of “IT for the masses” was successfully driven. He has a vision to take PC and broadband into every village and to every person in India. It was this vision that made HCL Infosystems the first company in India to create special products for the rural market place like a rural PC that works on a car battery or specially developed financial inclusion software and hardware products. In 2011, the honourable President of India conferred Mr Ajai Chowdhry with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian honours, as recognition of his consistent contribution in building the IT industry of the nation.

Mr. P. Dwarakanath is the Director – Group, Human Capital of Max India Limited, New Delhi. He heads the HR function and drives Max Group’s intent to make work at Max India a fulfilling experience. He has experience of nearly 39 years, of which he has spent 27 years in GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). During his tenure, GSK was twice adjudged amongst the top five employers in India for people-related practices. He is on the Board of several companies / institutions, including GSK Consumer Healthcare Limited. Mr. Dwarakanath has held several positions in various professional bodies that include President, National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN); President, Delhi Management Association; Regional President, AIMA and Treasurer, AIMA. He has won several awards, including the &rsquot;Pathfinders Award&rsquot; by the National Human Resource Development Network, &rsquot;HR Professional of the year&rsquot; by Mid-Day/DAKS, London and the &rsquot;Career Achievement Award&rsquot; by GSK International. Mr. Dwarakanath is a Bachelor of Science, Law and holds Post Graduate Diploma in Management in PM & IR.

For six months he took a sabbatical and worked with OXFAM GB an international NGO during this period he worked on projects in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Then for one year whilst at Astrazeneca he was holding the additional charge of the Sales function along with his HR responsibility. Remaning experience is in professional Human Resources Management. Over these 22 years he has worked in Crompton Greaves, Clogate Palmolive, AstraZeneca, J&J and now with Philips.

Lipika is the Vice President-Compensation & Benefits for GE Capital, a role that she has taken since July 2011. Her focus areas would be driving compensation strategy for GE Capital businesses, monitoring industry trends and developing and implementing C&B processes. She would drive the Compensation philosophy across GE Capital through various initiatives along with other C&B interventions like evaluating and designing variable pay practices for GE India in conjunction with global team. Prior to joining GE, she was Head-Compensation & Benefits for Nokia India and was leading C&B aspects for this Mobile handset organization in terms of its Sales & Marketing unit, manufacturing set up and R&D facility. She has led various talent management initiatives for Nokia globally apart from looking after India C&B portfolio. She was instrumental in setting up the global shared service centre for Nokia in India. Prior to a C&B role, she was heading Human Resources for its Corporate office and North region as an HR Generalist and had done HR business partnering for Nokia’s top leaders. Prior to Nokia, she was associated with ESPN Star Sports as HR Manager and led various HR initiatives in the field of HR. Sandeep Girotra

Sandeep is the head of human resources Convergys customer management operations in India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He started his career in 1992 and has worked with Dupont India as Compensation and Benefits leader, prior to joining GE in 1998. In GE, he has held various positions in Human Resources including leadership HR roles in GENPACT (earstwhile Gecis), Head of HR for GE Money India, Organization and Staffing leader for GE Money Asia and as the SHRM for GE Joint Venture with Hyundai Capital in Korea. His last assignment in GE was as the Senior HR Manager for enabling functions and Learning and Development leader for GE Capital, Asia Pacific.
