Microsoft India joins forces with NIET and Indian IT giants to boost student employability through Ed-vantage program

Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology is North India’s first Microsoft Ed-Vantage Platinum Campus!

Greater Noida, May 25, 2013— Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. today joined forces with Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET) to help increase student employability through its education resource program, Ed-vantage. The program provides a platform for corporates to hire Microsoft Technology certified students of high caliber from colleges for internship and employment. Ed-vantage allows for industry connections facilitation for eligible students for Internship and employment.
 
NIET, a pioneer in industry embedded education, is Microsoft’s first Ed-vantage PLATINUM Campus in entire North India. NIET has passed stringent qualifying criteria to achieve this prestigious landmark. Building on their illustrious track record in helping students to connect to future challenges, NIET has taken their ability to deliver industry ready human resources to the next level, by partnering with Microsoft as an exclusive Ed-vantage PLATINUM campus.

Emphasizing the importance of this initiative along with NIET in furthering student employability, Mr. Raj Katari, Director – Geo Expansion along with other senior leaders from Microsoft, was present at the sprawling NIET campus to personally launch and hand over the Ed-vantage Platinum Campus Certification to Mr. Raman Batra, Director – CMC, PFS & NBS. In another first for this region, Microsoft will also partner with NIET to host a Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC), a state-of-the-art technology facility for innovative research, technology and software solutions. This will be achieved through a combination of academic, government and industry participants.
Under the Ed-vantage collaborative model, Microsoft India endeavors to provide the right platform to enable institutes across India to rise to their true potential by bringing in more technology innovation and capacity building for faculty and students; and making the students more employable. The program will engage leading corporates who will benefit from access to fresh high-caliber talent certified on the latest Microsoft technologies.

The announcement was made during the Placement Felicitation Program – 2013. NIET has celebrated its achievement of 1100+ placements in the year 2012. The college management felicitated the students who were selected through Campus Recruitment Drives. Some of the companies visiting for campus are TCS, Accenture, Microsoft, ICICI Bank, HCL, Aditya Birla Group, Headstrong, IBM, Union Bank of India, Blackberry, Indian Army, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank, etc. Dr R K Khandal, Vice Chancellor, GBTU graced the event as Chief Guest. Other dignitaries available in the event were Dr O P Agarwal, Managing Director, NIET and Dr Neema Agarwal, Additional Managing Director, NIET. Mr. Raman Batra, Director – CMC, PFS & NBS, and his team were awarded for showing outstanding performance and obtaining the Best Placements in the entire northern region.
