india shinning is a new buzzword.it would not be aggreation to say that this is a new national slogan of the counrty.even the layman on the street now seems to interperse his conversation with this slogan.

india is shinning in the sense that its GDP has increased to more than 6% .
also india has made a rapid economic progress in the field of telecom ,phamacutical company, textile.
earlier owing a mobile phone was considered to be a luxurious affot of tata and ambani.that has changed now.right from a well to do industralist to a teenager in the collage all toto a mobile phone.
infact there are 3.3 milloin user of mobile phone in india.

apart from that now a common middle man can buy maruti800 by paying as less as Rs3000.tghis was not possible 5-10 year back.thanks to the falling interest rate.infact the fall inthe interest rate result in increase in purchasing power.there is an increase in purchasing power from 7000 billoin to 14000 bn.more than double.

shopping mall are comming up this indicate that ppl are ready to buy more than what they did earlier.

increase in disposable income and per capita income result in exp in medical and health services.also lots of MNC are comming in india which result in greater revenue and higher standard of living.

agreed to the fact tht india has actually shined last three or four years... ppl are not thinking of going abroad as they get handsome salaries right out in their own country.... but considering wht mahatma gandhi has said... the real india lies right in its villages....
thts wht chandrababu naidu and atal bihari bajpayee missed out... they just increased the gulf between the rich and poor more... they developed the cities more and negleted the villages...
so i wud rather say tht its just an illusion... so long as every village is not getting clean drinking water... as long as all villages are not getting enuf electricity india doesnt at all signs.. rather its some small sparks of lightening inside a big darkness..... so i think india will really shine when the gulf between the rich and the poor will be decreased... its better to manage wid a nokia 3315 and give the rest amount to sponsor a poor child's schooling rather than having a handset worth 30 k... its all bout ethics

india is shining.yaa definately it is true.
as we know that before green revolution(gr) came into being it is called the food deficit country.m.s.swamtnathan introduced gr
in india and converted a food deficit country into food surplus country.theryby taking care of large scale possible social unrest.and now our p.m.think abt 2nd gr.
and if we see towards the banking side indira gandhi converted the entire banking sector into nationalised one.her logic was simple to make funds for growth available at the grass root level in the remote village.it had a positive impact on credit availabilityacross india.but poor efficiency converted these banking giants into liability.
and if we setorial wise india is booming like in retail, pharma, service, insurance& now aviation sector is also booming.so,if we see overall growth india is really shining.

I am 100% agree wit u, Now people think that if they are able to earn a handsome amount here in India, why to go out of india. In last 4-5 Years we know that IT sector has writteen a success story, National Highways and America which was termed as out of approach for middle class, matters nothing for them, Airlines.. people prefer to go by air in place of trains.....
This all happened when the govt. thought to change the on going policies. But the new Govt.(Current Govt.) is again trying to move us 50 Yrs back.

I Would like to add that India has progress in many fields like service , growth in export , sensex is in its all time high , brain drain came down to some extent , & many more but there r many more 2 do .... I believe India has not shined yet , improvement has though seen but many thng to do reduction in poverty , population , unemployment , illeteracy is the prime concern inalong with establishing strong base in manufacturing & agriculture sector , quality product , skill labour & no doubt removing red tapesim r some of the point .

if somebody says india is shining then that would just be presenting one side of the canvas. indeed india is growing in terms of GDP fly overs being build all across cities in india new technology is being devloped and so on the picture seems very rosy BUT how can we overlook the poverty in interior and backward areas the social conditions especially of women the crime, half of which we dont even know as no FIRs are lodged and these thing are increasingly visible through annual reports by governments even in cities how safe are women or the senior citizens residing alone.

how can we forget the red tapism we see almost daily in our lives but donot do a thing about it. how often do we read instances of child abuse child labour and dowry related cases in news papers.
the mass constitute the villagers we talk about sat. tv but forget the collosal number of homes even without electricity even today. thosands commit suicides because of lack of funds, help from govt even though they posess huge land areas.there is so much of racial descrimination.

india is growing and developing but certainly not shining and for that to happen its prosperityis requred in every aspect . ONLY THEN CAN WE PROUDY CLAIM india TO BE SHINING

so before you take any firm stand on the topic think a little.

india at the time of independence was an agrarian country but now it has moved .appox 52%of the GDP comes from tertiary sector.india has made a rapid economic progress. earlier metros was a dream now it is reality .till date three phase have been completed and within 5-10 year so metros will have presence everywhere.

earlier consumption expenditur on food is 74% in 1980's but now it has shifted to transport sector.

india have made a rapid progress in IT sectors and outsourcing.the famous example is Reliance,Infosys etc.

so many mergers r taking place.the recent merger is Dr.pratap Reddy's to acquir 26% in Aircel to partner with Maxis.

also it is expected that india will cross the $1 trillion GDP mark by 2009.

Hi friends,
The whole myth of india shining slogan is purely due to the fact that software industry is booming now. I happen to work in asoftware firm and what i have noticed that even though 25% of Indian exports are from software , they constitute only 6% of US imports. So the US is seriously not having any problems in offshoring. I dont know how namy days this os going to last and just like all things this will also have a saturation state.
We see India as a country of Newly opened malls, Qualified professionals but the sad fact is that we are bargaining our brains and talent with the mighty US companies who are ready to do anything for cheap labour.
As someone pointed out, The real india is in the villages. Even now an average poor man doesnt earn much to make his ends meet. Even now farmers in Andhra are commiting suicide on a large scale. Farming land is now accomodating Big flats and Industries.
India is shining only for the MNCs and the politicians but definitely not for the common "Aam Aadmi"

well in this decade we r going to have 7% of growth rate which is higher than anytime , india has come out of its age old policies , the whole new story has been started in servie sector(bpo, kpo.it etc) ,indian biggies lik tata, mnm, relianc r investing n acquring overseas n r becoming indian multinational , consumerism is growing , psu like ongc , sail r posting high profits well beyond this economical growth , we have also seen many change in social n cultural changes , such as coming up of new middle class , which work in bright , air conditioned offices , pepole r now much more aware of their rights , media revolution has change the whole scnario it has made common man much more vigilant but its only starting still we have miles to go ,we have many chronic problems as of poverty , corruption , unemployment etc which r going to b there what this recent economic devolepment has done is that it has put india on global forum (n our politician started shouting on top of their voice as if they have don somthing really great , now it will take its own time to solve these problems
and at present we r nowhere near world class (recent floods in mumbai , banglore , those potholes in pune has shown wat kind of infrastructure we have ,
yes we r devoloping but still even to compete with china (forget abt usa, uk, eu) it will really neeed a very strong determnation frm gov which instead of starting media campaign(india shining)(n making it a debatable point ) should focus on how to make life more comfortable fpr a common man

well it is not so easy to say that India is shinning or not, Well I would like to add that there are some sectors which turns thing to be positive whereas there are some sectors which reflects that those days are not far when we are again going to BEG for food.
Its serious have any of u noticed growth of agril sector. just have a look once. India is Shinning no doubt in it but this is not golden shine its gold plated shine which won last for long. if really we want to be super power then we need to maintain a better balance between the portfolio's of all sectors.
I would also like to add that the financial sector which is backbone of the country is in trouble too. NPA's are rising day by day and asset portfolio's are getting worst.

What will u say is this INDIA SINNING. Are we looking for this kind of shine.
