The success of an add can be weighed by the publicity the product gains. But quiet often the product does not prove worth its publicity. It is true that public comes to know about the quality of the product only after he or she uses the product. In reality success of an add has turned out to be the degree to which people have been fooled.

Yes, it is but not always. There is difference b/w telling a lie and not giving the full information. In ads information is true but not exact n full. Endorsements are deceptive but not fully a lie.

I do believe advertisements are a half lie but for promotion of any damn thing, u should first promote it in front of people so that it interests them and for this purpose one has to bloom their project in the market
So i do think advertisements are a must for anything

Advertising is the promotion of goods, services, companies and ideas without which no product or service can be successful. Its the ads which make an impact on us and compels us to go and buy a product.

And this is the reason that the companies are taking advantage and fooling people nowadays.
For Eg of 'SALE'
By comparing a sale price to a regular price for the same product, advertisers can inflate the "regular" price in order to create the impression that the sale price is very low. The intent is to mislead consumers into thinking that they are saving money by purchasing the "on-sale" item or service
And another Strategy of 'Buy 1 get 1 free'
By increasing the price of a product to three timesi ts original price and then offering another free with that. In other cases the free product is of lower quality than the originally purchased item.
Actors, cricketors are hired to promote products when the fact will be that they never may hav used the product.

So isnt all of them a means of false advertising
but the fact remains there there is a cold war between the product manufacturers and their competetors which compels them to bring out schemes but they all should not forget that its the consumers who suffer.

And consumers should not blindly follow what they are being shown because i believe everyone of us would have fallen into the trap atleast once so one should not repeat our mistakes.

Dudes advertisement is an excersise of promoting or introducing the product into the general public. If the information given in it is not true how could people beliebe that?they are not fools na!.Ok if the wrong information poured into the public in the first step they buy it and in the next step they couldn`t even see at the poduct or service( As they came to know). This is quite reverse to what the producers interested in.That is why what is given in the advertisement may not be wrong. But the information given in that may not be applied to all.
