About the author Vedam Jaishankar is an experienced cricket correspondent in the country. In a career spanning two decades, he has travelled extensively and covered cricket in six continents, including North America when the United States of America Cricket Association invited him to witness the pathbreaking India A vs Australia A one-day series in 1999. He took to cricket journalism two decades ago. After a stint with The Deccan Herald, he moved to The Indian Express where he was the principal cricket correspondent for many years. He was an office-bearer of the Sports Writers Association of Bangalore and its parent body, the Sports Journalists Federation of India. He received the Dasara Award for excellence in Sports Journalism from the Karnataka State Government, and the Rotary Club award for Outstanding Contribution to Journalism.
