The voices of silence’, ‘silence is eloquent’, etc. are popular phrases people use to express a meaning that is not explicit in a thing or event. A tear drop, an image of a deity, a photo of a loving person all such things convey more meanings than can be done by words. The recently brought our VCD on a holy pilgrimage to the sacred Mount Kailash eloquently speaks in mute words, volumes of a great spiritual ethos of millions and millions of believers the world over. The legend of this greatest of the pilgrimage centers originates from hoary antiquity. It’s remembrance simply transports one’s mind into a mystical nostalgia. The impact created on the mind of one who views the VCD, packed with breathtakingly marvelous pictures caught in an accurate cine camera, beggars description. The speed of the camera, clarity and close-up of the photos, choice of primary and secondary shots, the hilly ambience at a height of 16000 feet or more at places, the change of colours on the majestic mountain and in the water of the Manasarovar, the background music, the narrator’s voice all put together hold the viewer by the hand and make him of her perform a rare pilgrimage any number of times while sitting at home.
