both are best in there field, no matter choose any one.

if you are looking
for programmer family technology with good future go with .net
if you have
excellent logic and ability to work on high class code with many security
issues go with java.

java is used when security is needed, and high class
of coding required. you can also develop high class application in .net but
security issue put java at least one step ahead in .net.
