First of all it matter whom they are interviewing. Technical interview for
graduates(freshers) they ask just the basic which has to be very strong like
if candidate is computer engg then definitely from C till java in detail,
networks basics and a little about electrical. But it does not mean that they
skip the body language and personality. Everything is noticed and then
concluded.
Rather nontechnical interview mainly comes with general questions
might be like winner of miss world in 2006. Much stress would be on economy
and recent activities in world. and obviously personality is the major part in
it, mainly how you communicate.

Technical interview is to test your technical skills. It is conducted to
ensure that you are up to their requirements in technical side. They mostly
throw the questions on you from your Area of Interest which you mentioned in
your resume(if not it's better to include it) and from field you applied for a
job - for a fresher.
If you are an experienced candidate then they will
check your technical knowledge that you should be having from your experience.
Here we go to non-technical interview. This is just to understand your
background and to check your personality(how you behave, etc) along with
communication skills.
