Should girls ride bikes or is it a boys' domain?

years ago it was the rich who rode horses and women rode sidesaddle with both
legs on one side of the horse because she wore a dress. later it became a
hobby and once women wore jodfers (slacks) a woman rode the horse with one leg
on each side. Bicycles have been ridden by both men and women, usually wearing
slacks or shorts. Bikes (as in Harley Davidson tough looking bikes) were the
norm with men only until they had a spouse who rode on the side or behind the
man (she wearing slacks or shorts). So it's customary for both genders to
ride. "She" should be wearing slacks too though. In these days of necessary
affordable transportation, if a bike is what you ride (to work, to shop) where
you live then both genders should ride the bike.
