About the AIEPIC contest
About the contest
All India Engineering Project Innovation Contest (AIEPIC, pronounced as eye-pic) aims to identify, promote and reward outstanding engineering talent across India. The contest is open to all final year undergraduate engineering students and MCA students in India. This contest is expected to bring together more than six lakh students from 3000+ colleges across India to showcase their projects. This is the only event of its kind being organized for the first time in India. The contest provides a level-playing field for every budding engineer to display his/her technical brilliance.

If you are an eligible candidate for the contest, register yourself, invite your team members, and post a summary of the project you intend to execute. You need to constantly update the progress of your project every 15 days. You can also vote/ comment on projects of other students and network with industry experts for guidance.

Through a rigorous and challenging selection process, a distinguished panel of judges comprising of scientists and industry leaders will select 500 finalists (equally from each branch) from a nationwide pool of thousands, to attend the final round in Bangalore during April 2010. There will also be several awards and incentives for the finalists and their colleges. For details check the Awards page.

If you are a working professional, this is a great opportunity to help the institution where you graduated from by guiding the students and help India to move ahead in technology sector. To know more, please visit the Mentor section. You can also propose project ideas in the Project Bank section.

A comprehensive case study will be made of each of the winning projects. The winners and their project details will also be announced to the press and media. All participants and their projects will be displayed on the websites of the organizing companies, as well as that of the sponsors.
Participating in the AIEPIC contest
Participating in the contest
Taking part in the contest is free and open for all final year students of engineering and MCA, whose college is affiliated to AICTE and UGC in India. We are not asking a participant to do anything new here. The same project which a student executes as part of his/her engineering curriculum can be submitted for AIEPIC.

Registration is a two step process where in the participant needs to provide 1) General Details and 2) Personal Details. The first step is compulsory when a participant registers but has the option to skip the second step. A participant can always choose to edit his/her profile and add the left out details at a later date. The sooner a participant's profile gets completed, better are the chances of being noticed by other participants and industry experts.

Each team will consist of minimum one and maximum five members. Participants will have to submit one project at a given time. Participants can choose any number of mentors for their project. Mentors can be alumnus, industry professionals or any general person.

A team can change its members any time before the registration process gets closed. A participant can be a part of only one participating team in the contest. All the members of a team should be from the same college.

Two teams are permitted to work on similar project.

If a participating team is finding it difficult to get a project idea, he/she/they can take the help of his/her/their mentor(s) or pick a project idea from the Project Bank page of the AIEPIC website. Participants will have access to Project Bank only after registering for the contest.

A participant is free to participate in inter disciplinary category (E.g. If a person is doing Electronics and Telecommunication, he/she can submit the project in other categories than Electronics and Telecommunication).
