Now, Complain on Builders Just a Click Away

Bangalore:  Owning a house is not just a simple transaction, it includes few problems as well. At times, buyers may face problem after buying a house and they run from pillar to post to get it fixed by the developers through a medium. To simplify home buyers grievance, CREDAI, the apex body for private Real Estate developers in India, has come up with Grievance redressal forum.

Grievance redressal forum, an e-based redressal system, is an innovative trend that has been put forward by the Real Estate Developers' Association of India (CREDAI) for home buyers, where they can log complaints through e-mail.

T Chitty Babu, national secretary of CREDAI stated that the grievance redressal forum was established two years back in Tamil Nadu and had received 27 complaints from home buyers which were reviewed and resolved in time. And, N. Nandakumar, Chairman of mission transparency said that, Chennai home buyers can now complaint against builders to CREDAI’s grievance redressal forum through an e-mail.

Now, another cause of concern is the time frame for customers to log complaints against builders and Babu further added by saying that “Builders gives a guarantee for 12 months. The proposed real estate regulatory bill is likely to extend this deadline to two years. But in case of major structural defects, there is no timeframe. If a competent agency proves that the quality of construction is substandard and the building is structurally weak, then the builder can be taken to task even after 10 years of construction."
