Naresh Gupta, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director, Adobe India R&D |

As senior vice president of the Print and Classic Publishing Solutions Business Unit, Naresh Gupta oversees product marketing and development for Adobe's standalone print, web publishing and e-learning tools such as Adobe PostScript, Macromedia Contribute and Macromedia Captivate software. His organization serves a broad and established base of customers who are publishing content on paper, electronically or over the web.
Gupta is also managing director of Adobe's India research and development center. He established Adobe's Noida campus in 1997, and he later integrated a second campus of operation in Bangalore through Adobe's 2005 acquisition of Macromedia. Under Gupta's leadership, the India operation has grown to be Adobe's largest R&D center outside the United States, providing a valuable hub for product innovation and filing for numerous technology patents.
Previously, as a computer scientist in Adobe's corporate research group, Gupta conducted research in the area of image processing and understanding. This work led to five technology patents and resulted in key features of Adobe Photoshop software and other Adobe products.
Prior to joining Adobe, Gupta served as principal scientist and director of the applied artificial intelligence (AI) group at LNK Corp., a company funded by the U.S. Department of Defense to develop solutions for image and pattern recognition, target tracking, data mining, and data fusion and compression.
Gupta has been widely published as a computer science expert in the areas of shape, motion and AI research. He received a B. Tech in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where he was named a Gold Medalist. He holds master's and doctorate degrees in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park. His Ph.D. thesis, "Recovering Shape and Motion from a Sequence of Images," was nominated for the ACM Distinguished Dissertation award. |

Sanjeev Kumar, Unit Executive for AquaLogic Data Business Unit, has been with BEA for about two years. Prior to BEA, Sanjeev led the product and infrastructure teams developing active monitoring and management systems of distributed services and applications at Amazon.com and Resonate. He was also a member of the founding team at Zambeel, a start-up funded by NEA and KPCB, focused on building large-scale, clustered file systems. Sanjeev has spent ten years in database systems (RDBMS, ORDBMS, OODBMS) at Oracle, Object Design and Versant Object Technology, in engineering and product management roles. Sanjeev has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, at Pilani, India, and a master's degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University.

Vijay Anand is currently the Vice President of Server Technologies at Oracle India. Prior to this, Vijay Anand was Vice President in the Software Organization at Sun Microsystems and Managing Director of the Sun India Engineering Centre (IEC), Bangalore. Under Vijay's tenure, IEC became Sun's largest R&D center outside the U.S. Vijay has over 17 years of experience in the IT industry. Previously, Vijay Anand was Senior Director responsible for the iPlanet Ecommerce Products including Market Maker. Vijay came to Sun with the 1998 acquisition of NetDynamics, one of the pioneers in the Application Server market where he was responsible for Product Engineering. He holds a US patent for this work. Previously, Vijay spent over 5 years in IBM Software working on precursors to the Websphere middleware suite including Encina, TXSeries and CICS.

Global engineering is a key part of Sun's innovation strategy. As Vice President for India Engineering Center, Anil Gupta leads one of Sun's largest engineering locations globally. Anil has been with Sun for over 10 years. As part of Sun IT, he led a number of initiatives, with a focus on building a reliable, high performance, cost effective, and scalable global network. Subsequently, Anil was the Senior Director of Global Sourcing at Sun and helped Sun reduce its cost structure significantly. Prior to joining Sun, Anil worked at AT&T in both Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ and Marketing in San Francisco. Before joining AT&T, he did consulting and developed software used by electric utilities. Anil earned his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, his ME from the University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sanjay began his career with Akamai Technologies more than seven years ago and during this span of time held various position of responsibility.
In his current role, Sanjay has been responsible for leading Akamai’s India operations and establishing Akamai’s presence in India by building awareness of its market-leading, Edge-based services and platform. Previously, Sanjay worked with in the Enterprise Applications Division of Cambridge Technology Partners, Cambridge, and provided technical support for enterprise mission critical applications. His career began in REM Indiana Inc. where he helped with the activities of mentally challenged and physically impaired adults. After completing his graduation in Business Management from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta, Sanjay went on to complete his specialization in Accounting from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.

Makarand has over 18 years of experience in the global IT industry covering P&L Management, Operations, Relationship Management, Strategic Marketing, Program Management and Business Development. Prior to joining AppLabs, Makarand worked at Wipro for over 15 years, during which he worked on multiple assignments in middle and senior management in the company's domestic as well as international businesses. During his last 10 years in the USA, he initiated and developed multiple strategic relationships for Wipro in the financial services and telecommunications industries.
