Prior to joining Yahoo!, Sharad was the India General Manager and corporate VP of Product Operations with Symantec (formerly VERITAS Software) and was responsible for the turnaround of VERITAS operations in India. Prior to joining Veritas, Sharad was the co-founder and CEO of Teltier Technologies Inc., a New Jersey-based telecom start-up focusing on products for the mobile network operators in Europe. He successfully sold the company in the end of 2003 to a larger NJ-based communications company, after which he chose to relocate back to India.
Prior to that he was leading the development for a wireless in local loop product for Lucent in Ohio. He was also instrumental in setting up Lucent’s Product
Realization Centers in India, and was the first development center head for
the Lucent-owned development Center in India in Bangalore.
He was also an early stage employee in an Apple Computer Inc. supported
start-up that was responsible for making shrink-wrap software for the
Macintosh. He started his career with DCM Data Products in their software
R&D group in New Delhi where he was working on products in the area of
networking and communications.
He is passionate about making product development succeed in India, both for MNCs as well as for domestic players. He is an active mentor in the NASSCOM Mentoring Program and Chair the TiE Bangalore SIG on Intrapreneurship. He is also a long-standing member of the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Technical Committee on Software Engineering. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering. |

As a Country Manager for India Development Center of Dell Products Group, Bangalore, Dr. Mansingh spearheads a highly talented team of software professionals in developing Dell's award-winning portfolio of products. Prior to Dell, he was Managing Director of Portal Software's India Development Center and Ishoni Networks India. In the US, Dr. Mansingh was founder and executive vice president of ATTI, a subsidiary of Aavid. Aavid was listed in Fortune magazine as one of the 100 fastest-growing companies in the US for 1999. Prior to that, he worked in the Silicon Valley for more than 15 years at Fujitsu and Hewlett Packard, as Director of Marketing & Sales, Senior Scientist, and Member of Technical Staff. He holds six US patents and has published more than 85 technical papers in various scientific and trade publications. Dr. Mansingh is a member of the Board of Governors at the National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. He is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE). He graduated with a Ph.D. and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada, in 1986. He also underwent the Executive Business Management Program for Growing Companies, Stanford University in 1996. Vivek was awarded the Gold Medal for graduating at the top of his class of Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Allahabad. |

Dr. Mitra has been with Texas Instruments (TI) for 19 years. As the MD, TI India, he leads a team of 1300 TI engineers driving all of TI's activities in India - across multiple product domains. He also leads chip design/software efficiency and leadership execution for critical TI products. Prior to this role, he was Director of the Americas Wireless Communication Product Development activities, Texas Instruments Incorporated, Dallas. Dr. Mitra has a B.Tech (1985) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering and a Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering (both from IIT Kharagpur). He also holds an Executive-MBA degree from the University of Texas, Austin (where he was a recipient of Dean's Award for Excellence).
